Happy Monday to all! I hope your weekend was even half as good as ours was! It was absolutely incredible to be a part of the shows with incredible crowds and the staff was on point at both and did their jobs very well and everything was smooth as Skippy other than having to deal with Mother Nature, but what can you do about that?
Saturday's benefit was in Prarie Du Chien, Wisconsin(don't ask me how to pronounce that) and it was a huge success! We had a rain delay from 5-7 but after that the people came out of the woodworks and showed up in numbers and it was a fantastic turnout! To top it off, it was a Cancer benefit. It's always an honor to be a part of things like this, especially to help fight Cancer, because every single one of us has been affected one way or another by it. There were lots of kids there hanging out and getting to experience and great rock show, some for the first time, and some are natural born rockers, but still having a ball. I always try to make it a point to get out and socialize with the people at shows and this one was no different. I seen some kids out throwing the football with their dad so naturally being from Alabama I thought I would get out and go toss it around some and show them how we do things down south (Roll Tide). Needless to say, everyone had a great time at Music Fights Back and it was an awesome time for an even better cause.
Sunday we did the first ever Boob Toob put on by Oz at JJO in Madison, WI. This was also a benefit, for breast cancer. Over 500 people showed up and we did a 3 hour float down the river and followed up by acoustic jams and a bonfire! It was great times and definitely different compared to your usual rock show. Even though it was acoustic, the people that showed up were rocking as hard as they were at a sold out Metallica show! Once again, a great time for an even better cause and it was an honor to be invited to be a part of it.
Any time we get a chance to be a part of benefits like this weekend, we jump on it immediately. Not only can we give people a rock experience, but we are blessed to be able to give to a greater cause and that is the most satisfying of all and I know I'm not alone in that, thousands of others felt the same way this weekend and that's what made the events such a success. A big difference can be made and the impact can really be seen and felt when people come together. Take care of each other and let's try to make a difference in someone's life, even as small as it may be. See y'all soon!
