Hello and happy Monday folks! Being out on the road will inevitably get exhausting, but sometimes you get to catch a little breather, as was the case today. Sometimes we all tend to get caught up in the motions of what happens daily and it is very refreshing to step outside the pocket for a bit and recharge the ole batteries. Michigan has been a great place for us for quite some time now and this weekend was definitely one for the ages!
We capped off an amazing weekend with incredible shows and then to put the icing on the cake, we were privileged to go to a Detroit Tigers game today. We beat the Red Sox 2-1 and the weather was some of the best I've ever experienced in Michigan. This was our 2nd game to attend for the Tigers and the Detroit sports teams seem to be a growing connection in the Shallow Side camp. We were also privileged to go to a Red Wings game a couple years back and that was quite a fiasco as well. Being from Alabama, we don't know much about hockey, but it was definitely an experience we will never forget. All of the sudden our song comes on the jumbo screen at Joe Louis Arena and we are on the camera acting like the bunch of uncivilized Alabamians that we are. All of this is from the courtesy of our great friend, and road mom extraordinare, Shari, whom we have known for years and has always been fantastic towards any and everything in our camp and we certainly appreciate her extensively.
It is a good thing to be able to recharge your batteries every now and then. Not just on tour, but in any given circumstance. Getting caught up in just going through the motions is something we are all guilty of at some point or another and I certainly am as well. We have to find a way to step out of that box for just a second, however, and allow some clarity to creep in and then you can refocus better than before! I hope you can all find the time to step out of your pockets in the near future, maybe it is getting to go see that movie you have been thinking about, maybe it's getting to attend a concert, maybe it's getting to lay out in the sun and have some peace and quiet, whatever it is I hope you can find it and channel it properly. If that concert happens to be a Shallow Side concert, find our dates here and come see us soon ya hear? Cheers folks and we will be seeing you soon.
